Our Process: We are referral based and use current exam notes and blood work results for scheduling purposes. Bloodwork is required for all patients over the age of 7 and must have been done within the past 6 month. Bloodwork is also required for patients with certain medical conditions. We ask that you complete our online “New Patient Request Form”, "Returning Patient Form", or have your provider submit a "Referral Form" to start the process. We then ask you to have the patients’ recent medical records forwarded to us for review. The doctors and technical staff review the records and we are able to call you with procedure dates and a price estimate within a few days.
Appointments: We typically are able to schedule the patient for a procedure, but sometimes we require more information to better assist your pet. For these cases a consult appointment will be scheduled. These slots are reserved for certain conditions and are very limited. These are scheduled on Wednesday afternoons.
Preparing for the Appointment: We will contact you 2 weeks before to remind you of this appointment. The day before we call you to go over presurgical instructions.
Day of the Procedure: Upon your arrival, you will meet with the doctor and she will examine the patient. We will discuss the procedure, go over any concerns you have, and have you sign any necessary paperwork. The doctor may give you a time to call us for an update or have us call you when the patient is in recovery. All of our patients go home in the afternoon, and do not stay the night. At discharge we go over imaging, what was done, and go over aftercare instructions.
After Procedure: We call the following day to ensure the patient is doing well. If a patient needs supportive care, we ask that they either come in or contact their primary veterinarian for any treatment, as needed.
